Selling products to retailers or other businesses that will resell them.
A wholesale transaction supplies a business buyer rather than the final consumer. A brand may sell directly to retailers through its own sales team, or products may pass through a distributor before reaching a shop. Orders commonly involve quantities, delivery arrangements and payment terms agreed between the businesses. The retailer then offers the goods to its customers. Quantity alone does not define the channel, since the buyer’s purpose also matters. A brand can operate wholesale alongside its own stores and online sales, with different relationships and stock requirements for each route to market.
