Viscose is a manufactured fibre made by regenerating cellulose through the viscose process.
Cellulose is processed into a solution and formed into filaments. The resulting fibre can be used as continuous filament or cut into shorter lengths. Viscose names the fibre rather than the construction of the fabric. A woven cloth and a knitted one can both contain it. Labels and technical specifications may name more than one fibre in a blend. Read the name alongside the stated proportion before describing what the garment is made of.

Viscose appears in product composition, sustainability and compliance work. Sales staff may need to explain how it feels and how it should be cared for, and product teams may have to describe its fibre source accurately. Search local jobs for “fabric”.
