Using social networks to build customer relationships and support sales conversations.
Social selling develops sales relationships through interactions on social networks. A salesperson can share relevant content, respond to potential customers and continue a useful conversation through direct messages. The process builds familiarity and trust before or during a purchase decision, rather than relying only on a promotional post. It differs from social commerce, where customers browse and buy directly within a social platform. A sale can follow a social selling conversation through another channel, so the relationship activity and the place where payment happens are separate parts of the customer journey.
