POSM

Point-of-sale materials: displays and promotional materials used where products are sold.

POSM brings a brand’s promotional message into the setting where a purchase is considered or made. Materials can include signs, display graphics and product presentation tools, with placement chosen to make the relevant product or information visible. Practical work involves preparing materials, arranging their distribution and checking that their installation follows brand guidance. A display may attract attention or explain product features before a customer reaches the checkout. The distinction from a point-of-sale system matters: POSM concerns promotional communication and presentation, while the system handles the sales transaction.
