A store given a prominent role in presenting a brand, often through its location, scale or product range.
A flagship is a store with particular importance in a brand’s retail network and public presentation. Its prominence may come from its location, size or product offer, although the designation alone does not specify any of those features. The store combines ordinary retail work with a visible role in expressing the brand through its space, merchandise and service. A flagship remains a physical selling location, while the word describes its standing within the network. Job duties still depend on the particular role, so the label alone gives little detail about an employee’s responsibilities.
