An approach to clothing that considers how it is made and its effects on workers, communities and other living things.
Ethical fashion asks how decisions about clothing affect the people, communities and other living things involved in its production. Assessment can follow materials back to their production systems and examine the practices and conditions behind them. Evidence needs to identify what was assessed, which stages were covered and what changed. A statement about one material or project cannot establish the performance of an entire garment or business. The term is not itself a certification. Specific standards and documented practices give a claim a scope that a broad expression of concern cannot provide.

A listing may reflect this idea in sustainability, sourcing or compliance duties, rather than by using the phrase. Look for what the job actually covers, such as supplier audits, standards or reporting. Search local jobs for “sustainability”.
