Europe, the Middle East and Africa: a regional grouping used in business; its exact boundaries can vary by employer.
EMEA groups Europe, the Middle East and Africa for business purposes such as planning, sales coordination and reporting. It identifies an organisational region rather than a single market with uniform customer needs or operating requirements. A regional role may translate global priorities into plans for several countries and coordinate with local teams. Employers define their own reporting structures, so a geographically European market can still sit outside an EMEA remit. The employer’s description of the territory is therefore more useful than assuming that the acronym always covers the same countries.
