Selling products directly to the people who use them, rather than through a separate retailer.
Often abbreviated DTC or D2C, direct-to-consumer describes a brand selling its products to the end user through its own sales channels. Those channels can include a brand website and stores. The brand manages the customer transaction instead of supplying an independent retailer that makes the final sale. A business can combine direct sales with wholesale relationships, so the term may describe one channel within a larger operation. It is more specific than business-to-consumer, which also covers independent retailers selling products made by other companies to individual shoppers.
