A bank holiday is an official public holiday in the part of the UK where it is observed.
The official calendars for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland differ. A boutique may still trade on a bank holiday. A request for bank-holiday availability therefore concerns when the employee may be scheduled to work. The holiday allowance is a different matter. An employer can include bank holidays in annual leave, or give them in addition to an allowance, and a vacancy may say explicitly which arrangement it offers.

Clarins specified 33 days of annual leave inclusive of bank holidays in a beauty advisor and keyholder posting in Swindon. For this offer, bank holidays are part of the stated total. Adding them a second time would overstate the allowance.
