Watchfinder & Co. seeks Senior Data Analyst in West Malling, UK to build scalable data models and drive analytics insights using dbt and BigQuery.
Role & Responsibilities
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams across Data, Tech, and Business to understand requirements and deliver analytical solutions to complex business challenges
- Translate business needs into clear, scalable data models and semantic layers aligned with long-term platform design and established methodologies
- Build and maintain robust data transformations and models in dbt, ensuring data consistency, quality, and reusability across the BigQuery environment
- Deliver analytical insights and self-service data products including reports, KPIs, and dashboards that drive data-driven decision-making culture
- Identify, collect, and transform data from multiple sources, modelling it effectively for analytical consumption following layered architecture principles
- Promote best practices in data development, version control, and documentation using Git and CI/CD workflows
- Proactively identify data quality issues, operational risks, and growth opportunities, driving data-driven recommendations and influencing business priorities
- Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders, ensuring business alignment and adoption
- Contribute to team culture by sharing knowledge, supporting peer reviews, and mentoring colleagues as needed
Qualifications
- Advanced SQL proficiency with ability to write optimized, maintainable queries using complex joins, CTEs, and window functions
- Hands-on experience with dbt for data modelling using medallion architecture, including testing and documentation
- Demonstrated expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery
- Proficiency with Git version control and collaborative development practices
- Ability to translate business requirements into well-structured, scalable data models
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking with focus on clarity and impact
- Excellent communication skills capable of simplifying technical topics and engaging effectively with stakeholders across business functions
- Proactive mindset with ability to manage priorities, document work clearly, and drive outcomes independently

Experience
Proven experience building and maintaining data transformation pipelines and analytical solutions in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrable success working across cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven outcomes. Prior experience in the e-commerce, retail, or digital commerce sector is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline; equivalent professional experience in data analytics or engineering is acceptable.
