Kiehl’s began in 1851 as an apothecary on the corner of Third Avenue and East 13th Street in Manhattan. Its skincare counters still offer consultations and samples, two practices handed down from the pharmacy.

The role combines personalized skincare consultations, team coaching, customer relationship building, sales performance, brand advocacy, and counter administration and standards.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver innovative, engaging skincare events and activations that generate customer interest in Kiehl’s products.
  • Coach and guide team members on skincare, enabling them to provide exceptional customer service and achieve sales goals.
  • Provide personalized skincare consultations and recommendations tailored to individual customer needs.
  • Deliver Kiehl’s service model consistently, creating a welcoming and personalized experience for every customer.
  • Demonstrate products, communicate Kiehl’s heritage, and share tailored product knowledge, tips, and techniques.
  • Represent Kiehl’s through exceptional service and merchandising standards.
  • Keep abreast of skincare and wellness trends to provide expert advice and personalized recommendations.
  • Achieve individual and counter sales goals agreed with the line manager.
  • Build authentic customer relationships in store and through digital channels to foster loyalty and repeat business.
  • Inform new and existing customers about upcoming in-store events, promotions, and brand activations.
  • Represent Kiehl’s and share expertise on internal and external social media platforms in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Participate in team efforts and complete required training to maintain current product knowledge and brand expertise.
  • Complete daily and weekly administrative tasks online and offline using Tamigo and One Retail.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping, keeping the counter clean, organized, and inviting.

Qualifications

  • Passion for skincare and the ability to share expertise, provide personalized advice, and help customers find suitable products for healthy, radiant skin.
  • Ability to build authentic relationships, make customers feel comfortable, understand their needs, and help them create skincare routines suited to their individuality.
  • Awareness of current skincare and wellness trends, with the ability to connect with people in store and online and build a skincare community.
  • Drive, ambition, and enthusiasm for challenges, creating innovative in-store experiences, and achieving strong results.
  • Belief in Kiehl’s mission and values, with enthusiasm for representing the brand.
