Hermès Stock Manager position in London, UK. Lead inventory operations, manage stock teams, and ensure optimal warehouse management for a luxury retail boutique.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead, organize, and prioritize stock team activities aligned with business objectives; establish quantitative and qualitative KPIs
- Train, coach, and develop stock team members to enhance autonomy, technical knowledge, and behavioral competencies
- Manage day-to-day stock operations ensuring accurate processing of deliveries, claims, returns, transfers, damaged items, and loan items through established systems
- Monitor negative stocks daily and coordinate with Sales & Service Support teams to resolve discrepancies promptly
- Plan, prepare, and execute stocktakes and cycle counts; investigate discrepancies and produce reports for the Finance department
- Implement corrective actions to reduce shrinkage and improve future stock accuracy
- Collaborate with Store Manager, Department Managers, and Head Office on stock controls, storage organization, and operational improvements
- Manage defective and damaged goods within designated stockroom areas; communicate quality issues to store management
- Ensure accurate ticketing through systematic checks during deliveries and cycle counts
- Monitor and manage expired customer reservations and coordinate their cancellation and re-integration into available stock
- Support the sales team with real-time information on stock availability, deliveries, and transfers
- Liaise with external logistics providers (DHL, FedEx) to ensure service quality and reliability
- Contribute to store team meetings and morning briefs with stock-related KPI reporting and corrective action assignments
- Implement and maintain optimized storage practices aligned with business needs and internal best practices
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, security procedures, and the 5S methodology
- Maintain stockroom cleanliness, organization, and equipment functionality; report maintenance issues immediately
- Serve as the store's primary key user and trainer on stock processes and systems; onboard new team members
- Lead process improvement initiatives to simplify operations and enhance workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Proven track record in stock/inventory management within a retail or luxury environment
- Demonstrated experience managing and motivating team members in a warehouse or stockroom setting
- Proficiency with EPOS systems, inventory management platforms, and Microsoft Office applications
- In-depth knowledge of inventory best practices and stock control methodologies
- Experience coordinating inventory-related projects and cycle counts
- Strong working knowledge of 5S principles and continuous improvement practices
- Track record of successfully implementing process improvements that reduce shrinkage and enhance accuracy
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and capability to work at heights using ladders
- Right to work in the UK on a full-time basis
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in stock management, inventory operations, or warehouse coordination within retail or luxury retail environments. Demonstrated experience managing stock teams, coordinating logistics, and implementing inventory control improvements.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional qualifications in inventory management, retail operations, or logistics are advantageous but not mandatory.
