Harrods is recruiting a Commis Chef for its Production Kitchens, preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen hygiene and supporting food production for its restaurants and Food Halls. This is a permanent, full-time role with set contracted hours; additional hours are paid at an overtime rate of 1.5 times the rate.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and organise ingredients, and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
- Support the smooth operation and delivery of kitchen operations as a member of the team, reporting to the Chef de Partie.
- Organise, rotate and label stored food stock.
- Complete administration for the assigned section within set deadlines.
- Ensure Food Safety standards are followed and maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation in food-related outlets.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of and passion for food and drink.
- Some experience in a five-star hotel or high-end restaurant environment.
- Strong time-management skills.
- A strong customer focus when dealing with internal and external parties.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Good attention to detail, demonstrated through completed paperwork, departmental organisation and sufficient stock levels.
