Whitman Laboratories seeks a Technical Team Leader for the night shift to lead Production Maintenance Technicians and Electricians, delivering responsive, reliable engineering support across manufacturing and assembly operations. The role drives equipment reliability, continuous improvement, operational performance, safety, quality and GMP compliance. This is a full-time temporary fixed-term contract.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop Maintenance Technicians and Electricians, managing performance, attendance, training and capability development.
- Maintain equipment throughout its lifecycle, drive planned preventative maintenance and minimise downtime.
- Provide responsive engineering support to Manufacturing and Assembly Operations, managing priorities effectively and meeting customer needs.
- Drive continuous improvement, LEAN initiatives, waste reduction, equipment enhancements and engineering projects that improve operational performance.
- Support site KPI delivery by maintaining high standards of safety, quality, GMP compliance and engineering excellence.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships, provide expert technical support and promote a proactive, customer-focused engineering culture.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in a cosmetics, pharmaceutical, manufacturing or production environment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within an engineering or maintenance function.
- Strong people management skills, including performance management, coaching, attendance management and team development.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience prioritising workloads and managing engineering resources effectively.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement, equipment reliability and operational excellence.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, GMP, compliance and engineering best practices.
- Good IT skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
