The Housekeeping Supervisor at The Dorchester in London checks and coaches the housekeeping team, maintains guestroom standards and fulfils special guest requests. The role works shifts Monday to Sunday, with starts as early as 7am and the evening floor supervisor shift ending at 11pm; it is permanent and full-time.
Role & Responsibilities
- Check the housekeeping team's work, coach team members and communicate clearly with them.
- Anticipate and respond flexibly to guests' needs, maintaining a keen eye for detail to ensure an excellent guest experience.
- Fulfil guest requests, including special room set-ups, supplying additional items, moving furniture, collecting supplies, deep-cleaning guest rooms and preparing for special occasions.
Qualifications
- Experience in a hotel housekeeping supervisor role.
- Ability to notice small details, such as whether a room has been cleaned properly.
- Experience helping or leading a team to complete its tasks effectively.
- Ability to manage time and complete tasks on schedule.
- Comfort with standing, bending and lifting light items.
- A friendly and respectful manner when speaking with guests and team members.
- Preferred: experience in a five-star hotel or similar.
- Preferred: problem-solving ability.
- Preferred: basic IT skills, including using a smartphone or computer for simple tasks such as checking a schedule or sending a message.
- Preferred: understanding of, or willingness to learn, health and safety rules for cleaning and working in a hotel.
