About Dorchester Collection
Dorchester Collection operates hotels including The Dorchester in London, Hôtel Plaza Athénée and Le Meurice in Paris, and The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles County. Its properties hire across rooms, restaurants, kitchens, engineering and guest services.
The Junior Sommelier at The Grill, The Dorchester, supports wine selection and service, works with the Sommelier and restaurant team, and helps deliver a welcoming guest experience. This is a permanent, full-time, shift-based role with operational hours that may change; the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Role & Responsibilities
- Help guests select wines to accompany their meals.
- Work closely with the Sommelier and restaurant team.
- Learn the wine menu and keep wine knowledge up to date.
- Set up and maintain the wine service area.
- Ensure guests feel welcome and enjoy their experience.
Qualifications
- Friendly and helpful attitude.
- Basic wine knowledge or a strong interest in learning more about wine.
- Good communication skills and enjoyment of speaking with people.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction.
- Organised and able to follow instructions clearly.
- Previous experience in a restaurant, bar or hotel preferred.
- Wine training or qualifications, such as WSET Level 1, preferred.
- Interest in food and drinks and how they pair together preferred.
- Confidence serving guests in a luxury venue preferred.
