Christie's Valuations Coordinator (German-speaking) in London – £30,000 annual salary, full-time role with hybrid working arrangement.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support Account Managers on specific valuation projects, including planning, travel schedules, research, typing, archiving, and quality checks
  • Undertake smaller valuations independently where suitable and approved, managing the full process and reporting at relevant project stages
  • Coordinate typing, correction, and proofing of valuation documents from manuscript and audiotape, ensuring final accuracy before delivery
  • Organize printing and binding of valuations and coordinate sign-off procedures for single-figure valuations
  • Cross-reference valuation and client information across multiple documents for accuracy and consistency
  • Type and proof valuations in European languages, specifically German, where required
  • Assist with uploading digital voice files and photographs following valuation site visits
  • Prepare Valuation Briefs, Letters of Engagement, Consignment Agreements, Schedules of Property, and related documentation
  • Organize and oversee removal of client property, including logistics for shipping, export, import, and warehousing
  • Oversee pre- and post-sale care including sale tracking and support Account Managers with multi-department consignments

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional work experience
  • Fluency in German, written and spoken
  • Strong relationship and in-depth knowledge of international auction houses preferred
  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of internal systems (CAMS, COS, JDE) helpful
  • Knowledge of additional European languages advantageous

Experience

Experience in an auction house, art valuations, estates administration, or similar professional environment is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously under pressure required.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional work experience in a related field.

The base compensation for this position is GBP 30,000 per annum.
