All applicants ought to know these basics about La Mer before applying or interviewing for any role.

La Mer began with aerospace physicist Dr. Max Huber, who spent years fermenting sea kelp, vitamins, minerals, and other ingredients into the brand’s signature Miracle Broth after suffering laboratory burns.
Its hero product, Crème de la Mer, built a cult following through word of mouth before becoming one of luxury skincare’s most recognizable moisturizers.
La Mer joined Estée Lauder Companies in 1995, giving employees the cachet of a niche prestige brand with the infrastructure of a global beauty group.
The brand’s positioning centers on high-touch service and ritual, so careers often emphasize client education, sensorial storytelling, and premium retail experience as much as product knowledge.
La Mer has long tied its identity to the sea, including ocean-conservation initiatives such as the La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund.
For job seekers, La Mer offers exposure to the ultra-luxury skincare segment, where innovation, scarcity, heritage, and exceptional service are central to brand value.
