All applicants ought to know these basics about Jaeger-LeCoultre before applying or interviewing for any role.

Founded in 1833 in Le Sentier in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux, Jaeger-LeCoultre is one of the few watchmakers to design, produce, and assemble a vast share of its movements in-house, making it especially appealing for candidates interested in deep technical craftsmanship.
The maison is often called the “watchmaker’s watchmaker” because it has supplied movements and technical expertise to prestigious names across Swiss horology, including houses that later became competitors.
Its most famous creation, the Reverso, was launched in 1931 with a swiveling case originally designed to protect the dial during polo matches, giving employees a rare chance to work on a true icon of 20th-century design.
Jaeger-LeCoultre is part of Richemont, which can create career pathways across other high-horology maisons in the group such as Cartier, IWC, Vacheron Constantin, and Officine Panerai.
The brand has created well over 1,000 calibres and hundreds of patented inventions, so roles there often sit at the intersection of heritage preservation, precision engineering, and ongoing product innovation.
Because Jaeger-LeCoultre balances métiers d’art, high complications, and industrial excellence under one roof, it offers a work environment that is unusually broad for talent spanning micro-mechanics, design, finishing, restoration, and luxury client experience.
