All applicants ought to know these basics about Diesel before applying or interviewing for any role.

Founded by Renzo Rosso in 1978, Diesel built its reputation on rebellious denim, provocative advertising, and a fashion voice that sits closer to cultural commentary than traditional luxury polish.
Diesel is part of OTB Group, giving employees exposure to a wider fashion ecosystem that also includes brands such as Maison Margiela, Marni, Jil Sander, and Viktor & Rolf.
The brand has repeatedly reinvented itself—from premium jeans pioneer to full lifestyle label spanning ready-to-wear, accessories, fragrance, and home collaborations—so careers there often intersect product innovation and brand storytelling.
Under creative director Glenn Martens, Diesel has sharpened its high-fashion credibility while preserving its irreverent DNA, making it especially attractive to talent interested in balancing commercial scale with runway relevance.
Diesel’s global visibility and youth-driven image mean teams often work at the intersection of fashion, music, nightlife, and digital culture rather than within a purely heritage-led luxury framework.
Because Diesel combines mass recognition with premium positioning, it can be a strong learning ground for professionals who want experience in branding, merchandising, and retail at a label with both broad reach and distinct point of view.
